Latest PTF updates on the Corona virus lockdown directives


The following relaxations of the lockdown were announced today, Monday June 1st 2020, during the daily briefing by the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 and secretary to the government of the federation, Boss Mustapha for the next four weeks 2nd – 29th June, 2020, subject to review.

The President has approved cautious advance into the second phase of the ease of the lock down.

The nationwide curfew remains in place, but the time has been extended from 10pm – 4am, effective from tomorrow, June 2, 2020. However, healthcare workers and journalists are exempted from the curfew.

Banks are to resume normal working hours

Government offices are to open between 9am - 2pm from Monday to Friday. This is for workers on grade level 14 and above, both in the federal and state civil service.

Inter-State movement restriction still in place except for movement of agricultural produce, petroleum products, manufactured goods & essential services.

Schools to remain closed till further evaluation. Restaurants remain closed, but hotels can reopen.

The Aviation industry is allowed to start developing protocols to allow for the resumption of domestic flights anytime from 21st June.

As announced by the PTF National Coordinator, Dr Sani Aliyu.

The relaxations which were recommended by the PTF and approved by the Presidency, are to be enjoyed while observing established  safety guidelines.
