Fire outbreak at Lekki-Ikoyi bridge, banks and Lekki Toll gate last night

There was a fire outbreak on the bridge which connects Lekki to the Ikoyi axis of Lagos. Some banks as well as the lekki toll gate were reportedly on fire as well last night. The cause of the fire is unknown as at the time of this report.

The #EndSARS protesters, who have been demanding an overhaul of the police, have refused to leave the streets despite pleas from government and other stakeholders. The bridge has been the alternative route for residents since #EndSARS protesters blocked the Lekki toll gates 13 days ago.

The fire outbreak was recorded after soldiers opened fire at the Lekki toll gate. There are reports that lives were lost in the incident.
