IGP bans FSARS and other tactical squads of the Force from routine patrols




Mohamned Adamu, the Inspector-General of Police, on weekend banned the personnel of the FSARS and other tactical squads of the force from routine patrols in mufti but to always appear in their police wears or complete tactical gears.

This is following findings by the leadership of the Force that a few personnel of the tactical squads hide under these guise to perpetrate all forms of illegality, contrary to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), Code of Conduct andIGP bans  Rules of Engagement establishing the squads, hence a terse statement issued by Force Headquarters in Abuja said other tactical squads affected by the ban include the Special Tactical Squad (STS), Intelligence Response Team (IRT), Anti-Cultism Squad and other tactical squads operating at the federal, zonal and command levels are all banned from carrying out routine patrols and other conventional low-risk duties notably stop and search duties, checkpoints, mounting of roadblocks, traffic checks among others.
