The Nasarawa and Niger State Governments will meet with President Muhammadu Buhari over their contributions to the emergence of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and the refusal of the federal government to adequately abide by the agreements reached between the parties before the evolvement of the FCT.
The FCT was coined from both Nasarawa and Niger State lands in the 1980's, upon it's emergence as the seat of government in 1991, the FG had promised to compensate both states as the then land owners of the FCT, in cash and in infrastructural development. But following the FG's failure to fully render the compensations as promised, the Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, said that him and his Nasarawa State counterpart, Abdullahi Sule, have agreed “to re-present their case before President Muhammad Buhari”.
