President Buhari Nominates Yakubu for the second term as the chairman of INEC

President Muhammadu Buhari has nominated Professor Mahmood Yakubu for a second term as the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Femi Adesina, President Buhari's spokesperson, in a statement on Tuesday, October 27, 2020, said that a letter has already been sent to the National Assembly to confirm the nomination. Buhari said the nomination was in accordance with the provision of Section 154 (1) of the 1999 constitution (as amended).
