UN Secretary General condemns killing of unarmed protesters in Nigeria



Antonio Guterres, the United Nations Secretary-General, in a statement through his  spokesman, Stephanie Dujarric, on Wednesday, has condemned the killing of unarmed protesters by Nigerian authorities and calls for an end to reported police brutality and abuses.

He expresses his condolences to the bereaved families and wishes a speedy recovery to those injured and calls on the Nigerian authorities to investigate these incidents and hold the perpetrators accountable.” He added that the United Nations are ready to make national efforts towards finding a solution. Also, the United States Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and former US Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton, have condemned the killing of protesters as well.
