Following the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike that has been on since 24th March, 2020, the Federal Government has assured that its face-off with the Union would soon end as all the issues have either been resolved or there have been some kind of compromise that worked out, except for one, which the government is planning to meet with the Union by next week to resolve.
Sonny Echono, the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, disclosed in an interview with journalists that the Government, while describing the strike as unnecessary, said there are other ways of getting things done.
