A tenant residing at kubwa, known as Mr Philips Okoh has sued his former Landlady, Mrs Barene Franklin for not fixing the house she rented out to him as agreed before he moved in, which he later used his own money to fix. Mr Philip in his petition is requesting that the money he spent maintaining/ fixing the house while he occupied it be given back to him by his Landlady.
According to a report from our Correspondence, who was present at the hearing in Kubwa High Court today, Mr Philip disclosed that he had paid for his rented apartment on May 28, 2019 and had asked his Landlady Mrs Franklin, to fix the house before he could move in. But on getting to the house, he discovered that the house was not fixed as agreed. However, in the court hearing today, Mrs Franklin denied owing him any maintenance money but rather demanded that Mr Phillip pays for the damages he rendered in her house. The case was today, moved to final hearing on January 25, 2021.
