Five local wrestling and drama theatres popularly called ‘Gidan Drama’ and ‘Gidan Dembe’ has been demolished by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), over failure of the Operators to stop their activities at the arenas and violation of COVID-19 protocols
Ikharo Attah, the Head, Media, Public Enlightenment and Advocacy, revealed the structures were demolished over the gatherings of thousands of persons at the local entertainment centres to watch artistes and wrestlers perform, without observing COVID-19 protocols, while one of the centres display nude dancers. The demolition exercise took place at Dakibiyu, Gwarimpa 1 and Sector Centre districts, with 25 persons including motorists and commuters arraingned for violating health protocols.
