A 60 MVA step-down transformer meant to transmit power arrived Kubwa substation of the Transmission Company of Nigeria, (TCN), in Bwari Area Council, Abuja, on Tuesday, February 16.
Residents of the area council had before now, continuously lamented on poor power supply, which according to them, had affected economic activities. The site Manager who prefers not to be mentioned in print explained that the hitch in power supply was due to pressure on the old transformer as load continues to increase in the area. He said power supply within the Bwari Area Council will improve as soon as the second transformer is installed. He added that the faulty transformer would be working simultaneously with the newly procured one to reduce and balance the current load that could further lead to another breakdown.
