"45 people died in stampede at the late Tanzania's President tribute" - The country's Police reports

Following the death of Tanzania's former President, John Magufuli, who was  buried on March 21, the Tanzania Police had on Tuesday announced that 45 people died during a stampede in Dar es Salaam, as mourners paid their last respects to the late President.

Dar es Salaam regional police commander, Lazaro Mambosasa said, “There were a lot of people who wanted to get in the stadium, and some were not patient. They tried to force their way in and that resulted in a stampede. Forty-five died in the accident, five of which are from same family. Several dozens were also injured in the crush but most had been released from hospital."
