FG approves establishment of SIM swap centres in 774 LGAs of the country

Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) have been given approval by the Federal Government, for the establishment of dedicated SIM Swap Centres across the 774 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Nigeria.

The Federal Government also approved the extension of the tenure of NIN enrolment agent licenses for MNOs from 1 to 5 years in consideration of their satisfactory performance, subject to continuous monitoring. The approval was confirmed by the Ministerial Task Force on the NIN-SIM registration after its 4th Review Meeting held in Abuja.
