A news anchor, Kabinda Kalimina, of Zambian KBN TV suspended the news bulletin on Live TV to demand for his salary as well as that of his colleagues.
After stating the news headlines, he suddenly stopped to say:
“Away from the news, ladies and gentlemen, we are human beings. We have to get paid. Unfortunately, on KBN we haven’t been paid.”
“People are getting instruments on KBN. Sharon and everyone else haven’t been paid, including myself. We have to get paid.”
The embarrassed station has called his behaviour "drunken" and not a reflection of the standars of the station as they urged the public to treat such unprofessional conduct with contempt.
