Between Apostle Johnson Suleman and a Lagos-based Vlogger

The recent spate between Apostle Johnson Suleman of Omega Fire Ministries International, a church with its headquarters in Edo State, and a Lagos Vlogger and Youtuber, Israel Balogun, has turned into a full blown police case.  Apostle Suleman announced to his church members that angels will deposit money into their bank accounts. Indeed some of the members both in Edo State and the US are said to have confirmed receiving bank alerts of the deposits. This "miracle" was however called out as a celebrity stunt by Balogun following which he received death threats from one Obi West and a letter from the Apostle's lawyer demanding an apology. Balogun says he was still consulting with his lawyer when he was whisked away to Abuja from Lagos by officers of the Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (FCID) on August 3 and questioned for four hours before being detained. He is still in detention as he has not met the conditions for his bail. His lawyer is however protesting the involvement of the police in the matter as Apostle Suleman "should have gone to court to file legal action if he felt he had been defamed.” Read more details at The Cable.
