Curfew in Jos, Irigwe youths reportedly responsible for Saturday’s killing of Fulani travellers

The Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong, has imposed a curfew in Jos North, Jos South and Bassa LGAs following an attack on a convoy of buses conveying some worshippers returning to Ondo after attending an Islamic programme in Bauchi which left 22 travellers dead and 14 others injured. Governor Lalong had on Saturday August 14 announced that Jos North, Jos South and Bassa LGAs will observe a curfew from 6PM to 6AM and now his Director of Press, Makut Macham has added that the curfew in Jos North has been extended to 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the Police has said it suspected the Saturday killings were perpetuated by youths of Irigwe Community when they ran into the buses on their way to burying their members who had been killed earlier.
