Speaking in Gombe on Thursday during the opening ceremony of a summit organised by the Da'awah Coordination Council of Nigeria (DCCN), the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, has asked governors to ensure there is adequate supply of food for the common man as global food shortage looms. Linking hunger to anger and lack of peace he also warned of an increase in insecurity as naturally following the shortage of food. He advised Governors to subsidise food production as needed and enjoined Nigerians, whether Christians or Muslims, to live in peace with their neighbours.
