The Governing Council of the National Commission For Persons With Disabilities was on Tuesday, inaugurated by the Federal Government.
Sadiya Farouq, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, who inaugurated the council in Abuja, said the commission was established to bring the years of exclusion of persons with disabilities to an end. She said the establishment of the commission would go a long way in alleviating the sufferings of persons with disabilities including seeing to their education, general wellbeing, employment and economic development.
