Niger state's ministry of education has ordered the closure of all public secondary schools in the state for 2 weeks to give relevant security agencies the time and opportunity to conduct a comprehensive risk assessment in their security.
The decision was taken during an emergency meeting held to consult with the proprietors of private schools (NAPPS), association of Model Islamic schools (AMIS), the state's Universal Education Board (NSUBEB) and othee stakeholders.
