Following moves by the National Assembly to remove the national minimum wage from the exclusive to the concurrent legislative list, the Nigerian Labour Congress will today (Wednesday) hold a nationwide protest. The bill for this move has already passed 2nd reading in tye House of Representatives.
NLC is protesting because the implication of the removal would make workers to earn different minimum wages across the federation and "undermine Nigeria’s working class". The protests will be staged at the 36 states’ Houses of Assembly and at the National Assembly in Abuja.
