Security guard assaulted by CCT Chairman at Bannex plaza, Abuja narrates his ordeal



The 22-years-old security guard, Clement Sargwak,  who was physically assaulted by the chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), Danladi Umar, at Bannex plaza, Wuse 2, Abuja on Monday, and captured in a now viral video, has narrated his ordeal.

Recall that Mr Umar in a statement had denied assaulting the security guard, but alleged that the guard was rude and threatened to deal with him. Mr Sargwak, who had a bruised lip from the assault said he approached Mr Umar to tell him that his car was wrongly parked in a way it obstructed entrance for other visitors moving into the plaza, after which Mr Umar came out from his car and slapped him.  "Mr Umar's driver also came down and slapped me and they tore my uniform and they stepped over me severally,” Sargwak said. Responding to the allegation that he threatened Mr Umar, Mr Sargwak said, ”It was even the ‘Oga’ by himself (Mr Umar) that went to his car to pick up an iron rod in an attempt to hit me on my head before someone intervened and pleaded with him not to hit me. He further stated that Mr Umar went ahead to call on Police and State Security service (SSS) personnels, who on their arrival also slapped him severally on the command of Mr Umar, before they proceeded to the Police station where he made statements. Samuel Ihensekhien, a Lawyer to owners of  the plaza who also represents Sargwak said the case is being looked into now by the FCT police.
