Rape Saga: Reviews on CCTV evidence shows Baba Ijesha kissing, fondling 14-year-old girl
Following the alleged defilement of a 14-year-old girl by Nollywood Actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka best known as Baba Ijesha, a close-circuit Television (CCTV) footage watched by Saturday Punch has revealed that Baba Ijesha, kissed and fondled sensitive parts of the body of the 14-year-old girl in the care of popular comedienne, Adekola Adekanya, otherwise called Princess. Some people on social media had argued the authenticity of the allegation, as the CCTV footage was not shared online.
The Actor, was also seen licking the fingers on the left hand of the victim and caressing the minor’s legs and thighs with his left hand. In an apparent effort to sexually arouse the minor, Baba Ijesha was seen lifting the victim’s dress as he caressed the minor’s body. The minor was dressed in a sleeveless gown as she sat on a sofa in Adekanya’s residence. Baba Ijesha wore a white shirt, a pair of blue jeans and a hat. Shortly after Princess stepped out, Baba Ijesha, who also sat beside the victim on the same sofa, was seen using his hand to caress the victim’s left arm. Before he started the act, the comedienne was seen leaving her apartment with three others, leaving Baba Ijesha and the victim in the parlour to see off the guests. After Princess left the apartment, Baba Ijesha was shown by the footage searching the rooms. Some minutes later, Baba Ijesha kissed the minor’s arm, hugged and caressed her body as they sat on the sofa. However, the victim, who was uncomfortable by his advances, quickly disentangled herself from the actor’s grip. Baba Ijesha was again seen in the footage, standing with the victim in the parlour, hugging the minor and using his two hands to caress the victim’s buttocks. The victim, however, disengaged herself from Baba Ijesha, who clung to her. Afterwards, Baba Ijesha was seen using both hands to caress the minor’s head. The footage also showed him bending the victim to a corner on the sofa and kissing the minor. Again, the 14-year-old girl disengaged herself from Baba Ijesha's grip. Saturday Punch observed that the sexual advances were instigated by the thespian. Also, background voices of people monitoring the situation in the parlour were heard in the footage. From the footage assessed, there was no part that showed Baba Ijesha defiling the minor. Meanwhile, Baba Ijesha was seen in another footage remorsefully pleading to Princess, and some other persons, who reportedly caught him sexually assaulting the minor in the parlour.

Who knows how many the pedophile could have damaged if he wasn’t caught. I sponsored the violence against person’s law. The penalty is nothing less than 14 years in prison. His plea, begging on some video I watched should not be acceptable. We should all do all we can to support the girl’s foster mother, Princess, to ensure this case goes to court and fully tried, and maximum sentence passed on him."

Alleged defilement: Police source says Baba Ijesha may be released on Friday
Following alleged defilement of a 14-year- old girl, a Senior Officer at the Lagos State Police Command has confirmed that a directive has been given for the release of Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka, aka Baba Ijesha, from custody.
The source said due to the ongoing strike by members of the Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria, courts had ceased from sitting and the suspect could not be detained indefinitely without trial. The source, however, said investigation into the recent allegation against Omiyinka revealed that he did not defile the victim, adding that when she was questioned, the victim confirmed the same. The senior police officer stated, “There was no case of defilement, people are just talking out of sentiment. They are not talking from the point of law. We interviewed all parties involved in the case for three hours today (Wednesday). “The mother complained that her child was at the age of seven when she was defiled and the child pointed at Baba Ijesha. But the case was not reported until she was 14 years and under the law, the case has become statute-barred. “Regarding this new case, the CCTV footage has been assessed and nowhere was it captured that Baba Ijesha defiled her. The footage only showed him touching the victim’s body but it never showed him having any sexual intercourse with the girl. The girl also confirmed the same thing. “So, in law, it is a case of indecent assault and not sexual harassment, and it is open to bail. So, can we continue to keep him when the offence is subject to bail and when there is no court sitting? That is against his fundamental human rights and the police do not work on sentiments. Directives have been given out for his release on bail.”

Comedienne, Princess narrates how Baba Ijesha defiled teenager in her home
Iconic comedienne Princess has taken to her Instagram page to recount how popular Yoruba actor, Baba Ijesha defiled a teenager who she identified as her foster daughter.
In an emotion-laden lengthy video, Princess revealed that the immoral act happened in her house when Baba Ijesha came to her for help. The Comedienne said, “Some years ago, I had challenges with my marriage and I lost a baby. So some parents in my area out of compassion allow their children to stay with me so that I will not feel lonely. There were six of them, three boys and three girls. Now, Baba Ijesha had challenges and he came to me for help so I tried my best. I registered him for a lesson, he sat for GCE and I tried to get him into UNILAG; in fact, he was enrolled. That day he wanted another help and I was not going out so I asked the three boys to go and play at their play spot down the street. My aunt had come to visit me and he was around. So when she was leaving, I had to go downstairs to lock the gate after her. “I do not know what happened in the space of three to four minutes but the following week, the school called me that I should come and see my children. They said the girl sat on her brother’s leg and was whining her waist. They called me and the parents of the children. The parents of the children are staunch born again Christians and I don’t allow them to watch anything even cartoons. If they have to watch cartoons, I must watch it with them.” She said that the actor had warned the girl not to tell anyone about the incident. The next day he came to ensure that she kept mute. When he was alone with the girl, Princess said he defiled her again, this time with his car key. “The parents said it could be spiritual so we started praying. He warned her not to tell anybody. He came back the next day to be sure if she had told anybody. He said that he bought fruit and she should follow him to carry the fruits from his car for everybody. When he got down, he used his key to defile her again. He did not come to my house again but anytime he needed help, he will call me,” Princess said. She seized the opportunity to clear the air as Princess revealed that contrary to news making rounds, the actor did not sexually assault the girl for seven years.
Princess said, “When I saw the news that people were saying he has been molesting her for seven years, saying so many things, I was shocked. Fine, he defiled her, he assaulted her and we just found out but he never came to our house again. He was dodging me. So whenever he needed my help, he calls me. Eventually, the girl opened up and explained what happened, the comedienne said she was shocked when the young lady voiced out. Immediately, they devised a plan to catch him red-handed. The comedienne said, “My friend called the child and asked her what the problem was. She told us and I was shocked. I decided to call Baba Ijesha. I went to his page and wrote that he should check his dm. Because I was trying his number but it was not going through. He replied to me on Instagram. I told him that I wanted to shoot a movie and I needed him to come over. My mother and I had said when he comes we will sit him down and ask him if it was true. That day when he was on his way I remembered that my sister and friend told me that if we do not have evidence people will support Baba Ijesha. I called a CCTV company to install cameras, I told them it was a matter of life and death so they set up the camera. When we set the camera, we asked everybody to leave the house but the girl was afraid. We calmed her down. She had not seen him again since the incident until she saw him in a movie that we did together recently. When she saw him in the movie she was jittery but she could not say anything till she eventually opened up to us. “When he came in he saw me and the camera installers, then he asked who they were but I said they were from a cable company. I told him that I was going out and I will stay long so he should relax. In two seconds that I had left the house, he checked everywhere in my house to ensure that no one was home or the children were sleeping. He checked the whole house for cameras, then he started. I cannot even begin to say the things that he did. My body was shaking because we were monitoring it on the phone. At a point when she stood up to go to the kitchen, I knew that there was no camera in the kitchen so people came in and we called the police. The police came immediately to pick him up.

Insecurity: President Buhari to meet with US Secretary of State, Blinken on Tuesday
Eedris Abdulkareem Ajenifuja, a Nigerian musician, has replied the Minister of State for Labour and Productivity, Festus Keyamo for claiming he resorted to blackmailing him after failing to extort money from him to support President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
The rapper had on Tuesday dropped ‘Jaga Jaga’ reloaded, a remix of his 2002 hit song of the same title. But, this time around, he featured Mr. Raw & Madarocker. In the song, Abdulkareem reflected on last year’s #EndSARS protest, the numerous challenges confronting the country and how the leaders have failed to tackle them headlong. He also aimed a dig at Keyamo, alleging that the minister has ditched his characteristic vocal criticism of societal ills because he has “joined cabal to chop money.” Keyamo responding in a tweet on Saturday however claimed Eedris had approached him in 2018 when he was named Director of Strategic Communications for Buhari Campaign Organisation and wanted to join the group for a fee. He claimed he told the artist that he had no budget for such. The minister added that the singer thereafter begged him for a loan of over three million naira to pay for his hotel bills in Abuja and also cater for his sick mother. Keyamo further disclosed that the musician pleaded with him to introduce him to Abubakar Malami, Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), and Rotimi Amaechi, Minister of Transportation, to pursue his course of “getting into the system”. The minister alleged that his refusal to honour Abdulkareem’s request led the singer to endorse Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for the 2019 general elections and to become a critic of Buhari’s government after the polls.
Narrating his side of the event, Eedris in a statement (with some pidgin) on Sunday said, “When he [Keyamo] was in prison, I stood by him, I fought (Olusegun) Obasanjo on behalf of all the comrades in prison. I released Jagajaga. When my mother was dying, I reached out to a brother, or one I thought was a brother and a comrade. Could he have helped, yes, did he help, NO…such was the wickedness of his heart that he munched and kept personal details for three years…real Hallmark of a Blackmailer! He added that “Issues raised on Jagajaga Reloaded are facts. Nigeria never had it so bad. The Jagajaga has taken a gargantuan dimension. We must keep asking questions. We must ask the cabal questions.
