After listening to arguments from lawyer to SERAP, Femi Falana SAN as well as lawyer to the Federal Government of Nigeria, ECOWAS court has ruled that "Any interference with Twitter is viewed as inference with human rights, and that will violate human rights. Therefore, this court has jurisdiction to hear the case. The court also hereby orders that the application be heard expeditiously."
The Court also directed the Nigerian Government to take immediate steps to implement the order of stopping the arrest or prosecution of anyone in connection with #TwitterbaninNigeria until the determination of the pending lawsuit against the Government.
