So... Cocacola lost $4bn of market value when Cristiano Ronaldo chose water over coke at a press conference







On Monday this week, at a press conference for the European Championship, Cristiano Ronaldo moved aside two bottles of Coca-Cola, one of the official sponsors of the event, picked up a bottle of water and then he exclaimed in Portuguese
"Água!" before putting down the water bottle in the center of the table.





By Thursday, the value of Cocacola share price dropped from $56.10 to $55.22 while the market value of Coca-Cola went from $242bn to $238bn – a drop of $4bn -  due to what the experts are calling Ronaldo's "star power" displayed in encouraging people to drink water instead of soda.
