Kaduna State shuts down 13 schools with immediate effect after today's kidnap incident

Following the kidnap incident today where Kaduna Police Command confirmed that Bethel Secondary School in Maramara, Chickun Local Government Area on the outskirts of the Kaduna State capital has been attacked by bandits and some students abducted,  the Kaduna State Government has closed down 13 schools in the state wirh immediate effect.

While some students are said to have escaped and ran back to the school, 100 of them are still missing while 26 students have been rescued in all. Parents and relatives of the kidnapped students have been flooding the school for reports.

The directive to close down the 13 schools were issued by the Director-General of Quality Assurance Authority in the Ministry of Education, Umma Ahmed, to proprietors of private schools.
