Following the
statement by the spokesperson of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Emma Powerful,
that the entire Biafra land will be locked down every Monday 6AM to 6PM
starting August 9 2021 until their leader Nnamdi Kanu is freed from DSS dungeon,
the brother of the IPOB leader, Kanunta Kanu, announced that the planned protest
has been suspended in the SouthEast to enable students take part in the NECO
exams. The Police in Enugu has also announced that residents should disregard
the sit-at-home order as it is not issued or approved by an legally recognised
body of government. Residents are left feeling uncertain.
