Special adviser to the president on Media, Femi Adesina in a statement said that President Muhammadu Buhari is working from home in five days
quarantine as required by the Presidential Steering Committee on COVID-19. After
returning from London on Friday, August 13, the President assented to the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) on Monday, August 16, in his determination to fulfill his constitutional duty. "The
ceremonial part of the new legislation will be done on Wednesday, after the
days of mandatory isolation would have been fulfilled,” he said.
President Buhari returned to Abuja on Friday, after a two-week stay in the United Kingdom accompanied by members of his cabinet. They went into isolation upon return after Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola, Nigeria’s Ambassador to UK, who was seen in close contact with the President at the Airport in London and other members of the embassy staff, reportedly tested positive for coronavirus.
