Eat a balanced diet.
Foods that contain vitamin A, C and E that is fruits, vegetables and leafy greens are essential for good vision and prevention or reduction in the risk of certain eye diseases.

Avoid eye strain while reading
Good posture while reading helps reduce eye strain. Avoid reading while lying down, have your light positiond behind you and over your work. Also looking up from time to time from your reading can help your eyes relax.

Wear protective eye glasses
While doing potentially hazardous tasks such as welding or working with chemicals nd while playing sports with high risk of eye injury. It is advisable to wear proper protective eye wear.

Protect your eyes from ultra-violet (UV) radiation
Wear sunglasses with UV protection if you have to be exposed to intense sunlight because the UV rays from the sun can be damaging to eyes and vision.

Computers and eye strain
Computer monitors are associated with eye strain. Computers put stress on the eye, cause headaches, blurred vision and eye fatigue. If you are a regular computer user, it is advisable to get your eyes checked by an optometrist. Computer use doesn’t cause vision problems but can aggravate an existing problem.

Television and your eyes
Watching television for long stretches of time can leave your eyes fatigued. Never watch television in a completely darkened room. Have the set at approximately eye level, avoid having to look up or down at the pictures.
