The Abuja light rail project is at jeopardy as unknown persons have started stealing the communication cable laid on the rail line.
Residents looking forward to having a functional railway line as alternative means of transportation within the city next year, may have to wait longer.

According to Channels Television, unknown persons are digging up and carting away communication cables buried along the rail tracks.
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Musa Bello, confirmed the cable theft on Saturday.
