Recall that the CCT yesterday ordered the arrest of Justice Walter Onnoghen by Friday. The embattled Supreme Court Justice has appealed the order seeking his arrest.
He appealed same yesterday based on 11 grounds including saying that his decision not to appear before the CCT judge is not one of disobedience as no order to compel his appearance has been served on him. This is in addition to the fact that the jurisdiction of the CCT to hear the matter is being challenged and he thinks the CCT should first decide whether it has jurisdiction to hear his matter before ordering him to appear before it.
He also asked the Court of Appeal for an order to dismiss the order of the CCT seeking his arrest and arraignment as well as different CCT panel members consituted to continue his trial.
