Alhaji Abbas Idris, the DG of FCT Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has issued a warning to Kubwa, Kuje, Gwagwa, Karmo and Gwagwalada residents to be on the alert concerning flooding. The warning is for residents living along the Usuma Dam channel. Torrential rainfall is causing water to overflow at the Usuma Dam. Road users are advised to avoid paths blocked by water and seek safer alternative routes instead.
He warns also that flash floods develop quickly so residents are to stay tuned to the news for information about the flood situation. They may also have to move away from these areas to higher grounds as quickly as possible without waiting for instructions to move.
