The Kano State House of Assembly just impeached and removed its majority leader, Lawan Abdul-Madari, for no apparent reason except a previous alleged altercation with his colleagues where he opposed the nomination of a local government education secretary supported by other lawmakers.
The impeachment was led by the member representing Bunkure Local Government in the house, Uba Gurjiya and supported by 23 out of the 28 APC members in the 40-man Parliament. The Deputy Major Leader was then adopted as the new majority leader. Read more details at the Premium times.
