Senator Duoye Diri, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has been sworn in as the new governor of Bayelsa state after INEC presented him with a certificate of return following the Supreme court judgement that nullified the votes cast for the gubernatorial candidate David Lyon and his deputy, Biobarakuma Degi-Eremieoyo of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

 The judgement was delivered yesterday by a five-man panel of the Court led by Justice Mary Odili on the Eve of the swearing-in ceremony of the latter.  Read more details at Channelstv.
