Following the agreement with the government to suspend the alleged strike, In the early hours of Monday, the Trade Union Congress, (TUC), have threatened to resume their suspended strike if after two weeks the Federal Government did not follow up with the agreements reached at the end of the joint meeting between the government and the organised labour.

The  President of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Comrade Quadri Olaleye, in a statement preceding it's meeting with the government, said that the purpose of the agitation was to draw the attention of the government on the suffering of Nigerian workers.
