Scary signals are looming as Nigeria seems to be plunging into a new dimension of economic crisis as food inflation is on the high side in northern regions, which is considered as the food basket of the country.
Following the food inflation, the leader of the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF), Yerima Shettima said that tougher days are ahead unless Government tackles insecurity as farmer's couldn't go to farm due to security threats from herdsmen. While Dr. Ayo Teriba, chief executive officer of Economic Associates, blames the increase in prices of food items on the lockdown measures taken to contain the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
