Following Laycon's win on the big brother Naija show, Senator Elisha Abbo(the slapping senator) who represents Adamawa North Senatorial District in the upper legislative chamber, and a Laycon fan, congratulated Laycon stating that he's throwing a party in Lagos to celebrate while inviting Naira Marley and all his Marlian fans for the celebration.
In 2019, Abbo who is Nigeria’s youngest senator, was caught on tape dishing out slaps on a hapless lady named Osimibibra Warmate in a sex toy shop in Abuja, hence the name "slapping senator".
