PMB's October 1st 2020 speech




In commemoration of the Independence day yesterday, President Muhammadu  Buhari in a nationwide broadcast encouraged Nigerians to chart a new path to achieve a greater nation. Speaking on the fuel subsidy and hike in Petroleum pump price, the President said it does not make sense for petrol to be cheaper in Saudi Arabia than in Nigeria.


Saudi Arabia has the second largest proven oil reserves in the world, hence the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) dismissed the president’s comparison between the fuel price in Saudi Arabia and Nigeria, saying it does not take into account the national minimum wage in Saudi Arabia which is N305,113 while Nigeria pays N30,000.
