The deregistration of Alliance for a United Nigeria (AUN), as a political party by the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), has been upheld by the Federal High Court in Abuja, on Wednesday.
The court, in a judgement that was delivered by Justice Ahmed Mohammed, held that the decision of INEC to deregister the party, was “unassailable”. It held that the AUN failed to meet the statutory threshold of the registration requirement for political parties, having participated in the 2019 general elections and failed to win any seat in either Federal, State or Local Government level.
