Following the appropriate sanctions for all established cases of malpractices during the conduct of its examination, the Nigeria Examinations Committee (NEC) of the West African Examinations Council has approved such sanctions.
During the 70th meeting of the Committee held between December 10 and 12, 2020 at the WAEC Training and Testing Centre, Ogba, Lagos. It was approved that the entire results of candidates involved in proven cases, which attracted cancellation of entire results, be cancelled, while subject results of those involved in proven cases, which attracted cancellation of subject results, be similarly cancelled. Also some candidates will suffer other sanctions such as barring them from sitting for the Council’s examinations for a certain number of years. Some schools will be derecognised for a specified number of years or have their recognition completely withdrawn.
