Following US Secretary Pompeo's tweet on Monday, designating Nigeria as one of the countries in religious freedom blacklist, the Federal Government has denied the allegation of engaging in systematic and egregious religious freedom violations, protesting the country’s inclusion on the list of countries violating religious freedom.
Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, reacting to the US action yesterday, in a statement in Abuja, said that Nigeria did not have a policy of religious persecution. He described the allegation as a case of honest disagreement between the two nations on the causes of violence in Nigeria.
