Marijuana legalised at the federal level by US House of Representatives

With a vote of 228-164 on Friday the House of Representatives legalised marijuana and  expunged nonviolent marijuana-related convictions in the US. 

This is the first time that either chamber of Congress has endorsed the legalization of cannabis. It is doubtful whether this passing of the Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement Act (MORE Act) will be repeated in the Republican-led Senate.
