JUST IN: Buhari sacks Service Chiefs, appoints new ones

President Muhammadu Buhari has sacked Service Chiefs and has appointed new Officers to take over their offices.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, in a tweet announced  their dismissal. The tweet reads, "PMB appoints new Service Chiefs. Maj Gen LEO Irabor, CDS, Maj Gen I Attahiru, Army, Rear Adm AZ Gambo, Navy, AVM IO Amao, Air Force. He congratulates outgoing Service Chiefs on efforts to bring enduring peace to the country. Major Gen. Leo Irabor assumes office as the  Chief of Defence Staff,  Major General I. Attahiru is now the Chief of Army Staff. Rear Admiral AZ Gambo assumes office as the new Chief of Naval Staff while Air Vice Marshall I.0 Amao is now the Chief of Air staff."
