The Eastern Railway Reconstruction has been flagged off today. The rail will move from Bonny Ports to PH in Rivers and link Abia-Enugu-Benue-Lafia-Kaduna-Bauchi-Gombe and Borno. South Eastern states will also be connected to the line.
Rotimi Amaechi, the minister for transportation, said the federal government is to contribute 15% of the $3Billion cost of reconstruction and rehabilitation of the rail lines with the rest contribution coming from a syndicate of Chinese financiers.
