Najeebat Sule, a former Nigerian beauty queen and doctorate student, aged 24, has been shot dead while sitting in her car in front of her family's home in Philadelphia, United States (US).
Najeebat who was known to her loved ones as Najee, was shot severally by an unknown man as she was texting a friend in her Toyota shortly before 6pm on March 12, just steps away from her residence in the 8800 block of Frankford Avenue. "I saw the guy shooting my daughter. He shot the last round, and I pursued him, he ran back to his car" Najeet father said. At the moment, police have not found a motive and have made no arrests, leaving Najeebat's family and friends searching for answers. They have also gone into hiding for fear of their own lives.
