The proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has said they are not responsible for the attacks on Imo Police Headquarters and Correctional Centre which took place in the early hours of today, where over 2,000 inmates were freed.
IPOB's Media and Publicity Secretary Emma Powerful said the attacks were not carried out by operatives of Eastern Security Network (ESN) either, as It is not their mandate to attack security personnel or prison facilities. He further urged the Nigerian Government and it's media outfits to stop linking such attacks in the country to IPOB or ESN.
