Dr Isa Pantami, the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, has today, Thursday April 1, disclosed that as of Wednesday, 51 million National Identity Numbers have been fully enrolled, while 181 SIM cards have been registered.
Pantami who spoke at the weekly State House Press Briefing at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, said it was a criminal offence punishable by seven or fourteen years imprisonment, for any Nigerian without NIN or to transact businesses like open a bank account, pay taxes among others without having NIN.
