Following the attack by unknown gunmen, suspected to be hoodlums at the Correctional Facility in Imo state capital, near the State Government House, in the early hours of today, no fewer than 2,000 inmates are said to have escaped.
The hoodlums also attacked the Imo State Police Command headquarters where they freed another 600 suspects in custody and burnt many vehicles. So far there's no record of any casualty, while those who got injured from gunshots are currently receiving treatment in the hospital.
