The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has said that customers in some parts of federal capital territory (FCT) will experience interruption in power supply. The affected areas are Gwarinpa, Gishiri, Jabi, Utako, Jahi, Wuye, Dawaki, Katampe, Kaduna road, Jiwa, Suleja Town, parts of Lifecamp, Kado, Wuse zone 1 to 7, parts of Central Area, and Garki. Others are Asokoro, Lokogoma, Apo resettlement, Apo mechanic village, Shoprite, Obasanjo space centre, National Biotechnology, FHA Lugbe, and Mararaba and environs.
The electricity distribution company (DisCo) in a statement on Thursday, said the interruption is caused by a drop in power generation. The company said the drop in generation prompted a massive load shedding of some locations within its franchise, though it did not state the duration of the power interruption. The AEDC assured customers that power supply will be restored as generation improves.
