Following attack on some communities in the state by gunmen suspected to be herders and lives and property lost as a result of these attacks, Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has asked residents of the state to defend themselves with dane guns.
He spoke at an inter-denominational church service held at the government house in Makurdi, on Sunday, emphasising that people should defend themselves wiùnnhghjth weapons not prohibited by law such as dane guns for which licences can be obtained at Local Government Secretariats in the State.
