UPDATE: One Student has been killed as Troops rescue Five abducted from the Kebbi School. The troops engaged the bandits in a gun duel on Friday morning, forcing them to abandon five of their captives.
According to the Kebbi State Police Command, the vehicle used in perpetrating the dastardly act was a white Hilux van with registration No. KBSJ 29, belonging to a High Court Judge and not the police vehicle as stated by some media stations.. The vehicle shows an inscription of Kebbi State Judiciary implying that it was hijacked by the bandits along Birnin Yauri road,
While asking residents to supply it “with prompt information that would aid in solving the crime and apprehending the criminals, combined team of mobile policemen and vigilante group have been dispatched to the nearby forest to rescue the victims. Policemen are also guarding the school to avoid an invasion.
