The ongoing nationwide strike by Resident doctors in Nigerian
public hospitals started on Monday, August 2, for several reasons including
delays in the payment of their salaries and allowances by the National Association
of Resident Doctors (NARD), has seriously hampered activities at the Kubwa
General Hospital .
Reports have confirmed that patients are being attended to by
Nurses at the Accident & Emergency wards in Kubwa General Hospital as
doctors are conspicuously absent. Some hospital departments offered no services
while others rendered skeletal services. Many relatives of patients and even
some nurses have been seen in groups lamenting the situation arising from the
strike.
The situation is not much different in other public hospitals in the FCT as the FG is still unable to get the striking doctors back to
work despite the long hours of meetings held this week.
